Ensemble aisthesis

Ensemble aisthesis is een instrumentaal ensemble, gespecialiseerd in het 20e- en 21e-eeuwse muziekrepertoire. Daarbij komen zowel de ‘klassieke modernen’, zoals Schönberg, Webern, Boulez, Stockhausen en Cage aan bod, alsook meer hedendaagse componisten als Helmut Lachenmann, Caspar Johannes Walter, Michael Reudenbach, Carola Bauckholt, Wolfgang Motz, Karin Haußmann en Konrad Boehmer.
Ensemble aisthesis op TRANSIT

Ensemble aisthesis was al te gast op onder meer musica viva in München, Romanischen Nacht in Keulen, Tongyeong Festival Korea, Kasseler Musiktagen en Basler Musikforum. Bijzondere aandacht trok het ensemble door zijn herontdekking van het oeuvre van de Franse componist René Leibowitz, waaraan het reeds meerdere cd’s wijdde.
In 1993 ging ensemble aisthesis samen met het vocaal ensemble Schola Heidelberg. Deze samenwerking wierp onder meer haar vruchten af tijdens de wereldcreatie van Matthias Ockerts Primum Mobile, alsook voor de CD Nuits – weiß wie Lilien.

Ensemble aisthesis is an instrumental ensemble specialised in the 20th- and 21st-century music repertoire. This enables them to play both the ‘classical moderns’ such as Schönberg, Webern, Boulez, Stockhausen and Cage, and more contemporary composers such as Helmut Lachenmann, Caspar Johannes Walter, Michael Reudenbach, Carola Bauckholt, Wolfgang Motz, Karin Haußmann and Konrad Boehmer.
Ensemble aisthesis at TRANSIT

Ensemble aisthesis has performed at Musica Viva in Munich, Romanischen Nacht in Cologne, Tongyeong Festival Korea, Kasseler Musiktagen, Basler Musikforum and other festivals. The ensemble has attracted special attention for its rediscovery of the work of French composer René Leibowitz, which it has also recorded on several CDs. In 1993 ensemble aisthesis joined the vocal ensemble Schola Heidelberg. The fruits of this collaboration include the world premiere of Matthias Ockert’s Primum Mobile, as well as the CD Nuits – weiß wie Lilien.
